Ever since its inception ISLE has worked closely with ELCOMA especially in the organising of its International Conferences and Exhibitions.
India is a member of the apex international
body on lighting, CIE through ISLE and is represented on the different
CIE Divisions that conduct the organisation’s technical work. ISLE
members are on some CIE Technical Committees and in fact have even
chaired certain TCs. The Editor of Division 5, Exterior Lighting and
other Applications is an ISLE member. Another member is presently Vice
President on the Board of the CIE and has been re-elected till 2007.The
quadrennial CIE Session was held in New Delhi in 1995.
Lux Pacifica is a lighting body that
represents 60% of the world’s population. It is made up of the national
lighting societies of Australia and New Zealand (IEANZ), China (CIES),
India (ISLE), Japan (IEIJ), Russia (VNISI), South Africa (IESSA) and
Thailand (TIES).The 4th Lux Pacifica Conference was held in New Delhi in
ISLE has a Memorandum of Understanding with
IESNA for cooperation in many spheres of activity. This association has
been reinforced by the entry of India into Lux Pacifica, of which IESNA
is a founder member.
ISLE has a Memorandum of Understanding with ILE for cooperation in different spheres of activity.
At the initiative of ISLE the first Lighting
Conference of the SAARC Countries was held in New Delhi in October
1991. This conference brought together delegates from the different
countries of South Asia to discuss lighting issues that are specific to
the region. The second conference was also held in Delhi in October
1995. Since then this conference has been held in Kathmandu in 1996 and
Dhaka in 1999.
At the 4th Lux Pacifica held in
New Delhi in September 2002, ISLE and IESANZ signed a Memorandum of
Understanding for cooperation in different spheres of activity.
ISA (International SSL Alliance) is an international alliance of regional alliances and associations, renowned universities and institutions and leading companies in the SSL field. ISLE is represented on the Board of ISA.
